USC Track And Field Signs Three For 2004

Los Angeles - Standout athletes Marvin Anderson, DeSean Cunningham and Katie Hutchinson have signed letters of intent to attend USC, Trojan Director of Track and Field Ron Allice announced today.
All three will enroll at USC in the fall of 2003 and compete for the Trojans in the 2004 track and field season.
Anderson, a promising sprinter from Jamaica, comes to Troy by way of Central Arizona Community College, where he has competed for the last two seasons. He has bests of 10.24 in the 100m and 20.63 in the 200m. Anderson was the 2001 Jamaican Junior Champion in the 100m and 200m. His best of 10.24 in the 100m this season is the 12th-fastest time in the world to date in 2003. He will start his Trojan career as a junior.
Cunningham, from San Diego's University City High, owns California's top time in the 400m in 2003 with a mark of 47.58. He also has a best of 48.56 indoors, which was the 11th-fastest prep mark in the country in 2003. He is also a part of University's 400m and 1600m relay squads which are currently among the best in the state.
Hutchinson, from San Clemente (Calif.) High, is currently No. 2 in the discus among prep girls nationally with a best of 175-8--a mark which would place her third on the all-time Women of Troy discus chart and is just outside the top 10 all time among female prep athletes. Hutchinson is originally from Pullman, Wash.
