Weather Stalls First Round Of Men's Golf Regional

SEATTLE, Wash. - -

Two rain delays totaling nearly three hours have delayed the first round of the NCAA West Regional Men's Golf Championships; the remainder of the round is scheduled to be completed Friday morning at Washington National Golf Club.

Oregon State, whose tee times began at 7:12 Thursday morning, completed its round, shooting 16-over-par 304. Among the nine teams that finished their rounds, OSU is fifth. The field is made up of 27 teams.

Among the individuals who completed their rounds, OSU's Michael Jurgensen is tied for the lead with an even-par 72. Oregon's Gregg LaVoie and Chris Piercy of Old Dominion carded 72s as well. Jurgensen reached 3-under through 12 holes, but bogied his 13th and 15th.

Sean Deacon shot 75, Chance Holmes 78, Daren Greig 79, and Cameron MacKenzie 79.

Rain, lightning and hail caused the delays.
