Men's Golf In Eighth After Two Rounds Of NCAA West Regional

Auburn, Wash. - Thanks to a second-round 289, The USC men's golf team is in eighth place after two days of the 2003 NCAA West Regional Championships held at Washington National Golf Course. Troy is looking for its first NCAA bid since 2000.

The Trojans have a two-round total of 593, 22 strokes behind tourney leader UCLA (571). USC is three strokes behind seventh-place Oregon (590).

Sophomore Ben Hayes leads the Trojans, shooting 145 (including a second-round 69) to tie for 12th. Freshman Taylor Wood is tied for 17th (146), while sophomore Nico Bollini and senior David Oh are tied for 63rd (152) and senior Chris Botsford is tied 102nd (157).

Michael Letzig of New Mexico leads the field at 137.
