Keira Goerl Repeats As UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week

Junior pitcher Keira Goerl (Moreno Valley, CA/Valley View HS) of the UCLA Softball Team was selected for the second consecutive week as the UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 19-26.
Goerl pitched a nine-inning no-hitter against California in the title game to lead UCLA to its ninth NCAA Championship on May 26. Goerl was named the College World Series Most Outstanding Player after pitching all 47 innings for UCLA in the tournament. She struck out 44 and allowed just four earned runs, including only one in UCLA's five elimination games. Her final College World Series ERA was a miniscule 0.60, and she set a new UCLA career victories record with 99 career wins.
This is Goerl's second UCLA/MET-Rx Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and the third of her career.
