Bruin Greats to Compete in Home Depot T & F Invitational

On Sunday (June 1), a crowd of over 10,000 is expected at the Home Depot Center, at its track & field facility at CS Dominquez Hills in Carson, hosting a USATF 2003 Outdoor Golden Spike Tour event. The meet, attracting some of the top track & field athletes from the nation and the world, will be televised live nationally on ESPN2 (12:30 p.m.-2 p.m.).

Bruin greats attending the meet include, in women's competition - Gail Devers, Joanna Hayes, Michelle Perry and Bisa Grant in the 100m hurdles; Tracy O'Hara in the pole vault and Seilala Sua and Suzy Powell in the discus. And in men's competition, Gentry Bradley in the 100m, Jess(e) Strutzel in the 1500m and John Godina in the shot put and discus.

UCLA redshirt freshman Jenna Timinsky will run in the women's 1500m (will compete unattached), in a race that will feature USA standouts Regina Jacobs and Suzy Favor Hamilton.

There will be a premeet 'Parade of Olympians' and that will also include Bruin Olympians Devers, Steve Lewis and James Butts.
