White-Hoppe Named CRCA First-Team All-American

Oregon State women's rower Julia White-Hoppe has been named to the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association All-America first team, it was announced Wednesday.

White-Hoppe's selection marks the third year in a row a Beaver has been named an All-American, but the first time OSU has had a first-team selection. White-Hoppe follows Joy Jordan, a 2002 second-team pick, and Abby Roos, a second-team pick in 2001.

A junior, White-Hoppe was also recently named to the CRCA All-Region first team prior to being tabbed for the All-America squad. Both honors were the first of her career.

The Medford, Ore., (South Medford HS) native rowed the five seat in the OSU varsity eight that was ranked as high as 14th in the nation this year.
