Dillon, Scholz Named All-Pac-10

June 5, 2003

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - -

Oregon State rowers Ryan Dillon and Nick Scholz were named to the 2003 Pacific-10 All-Conference Team, it was announced by the conference Friday.

Dillon and Scholz are both seniors and three-year letterwinners who helped the Beavers' varsity eight to a ninth-place finish at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships recently, equaling the third-best finish in the history of the program.

The varsity eight also matched the highest national ranking in the history of the program this year, climbing to eighth.

Both rowers were members of the 2002 varsity eight that recorded OSU's best-ever finish of fourth at the IRAs.

The All-Pac-10 honors are the first such distinctions for each rower.

Dillon hails from Tidewater, Ore. (Waldport HS), and Scholz is from Springfield, Ore. (Springfield HS).

The Beavers have now had two rowers named to the all-conference squad each of the last nine years, dating back to 1995.
