Jay Miller Named Freshmen All-American

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State outfielder Jay Miller was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American team as chosen by Collegiate Baseball newspaper, Thursday.
Miller, a native of Bellevue, led the Cougars in 2003 with a .341 batting average, 73 hits, 21 multi-hit games and 21 doubles (tied for eighth on WSU's single season list). He scored 40 runs, collected 36 RBI and posted a .467 slugging percentage.
The right-handed hitter recorded a .638 batting average during an eight-game hitting streak at the end of March and finished the season with hits in each of the final six games.
Miller batted .348 in Pacific-10 games and was named all-conference honorable mention.
