Senior David Martin Named First-Team Pac-10 All Academic

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Stanford senior David Martin (Tulsa, Ok) was named to the First-Team Pac-10 All Academic squad. In addition, junior Carter Morris (Washington, D.C.) was named Second-Team Pac-10 All Academic and junior Joe Kao (Fullerton, Ca) made Pac-10 All Academic as an Honorable Mention.
Martin, an American Studies Major, was able to maintain a 3.72 grade-point average, while performing as the 16th ranked ITA national men's singles player, with a 34-11 overall record. Martin, along with doubles partner Scott Lipsky, finished the season with a 30-10 doubles record and the #2 ITA national doubles ranking. Martin capped off his senior season by earning All-America honors in both singles and doubles competition.
Joining Martin on the All-Academic team are second teamer Carter Morris, a Sociology major with a 3.56 grade-point average, who finished the year with a 16-8 overall singles record. Junior Joe Kao earned Honorable Mention honors.
In order to be eligible for selection to the Pac-10 All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
