Davis Wins 3000mSC at USATF Jr. Championships

University of California track and field athlete Kevin Davis won the 3000-meter steeplechase Sunday at the USA Track and Field Junior Championships. Stanford hosted the championships at Cobb Track and Angell Field.
Davis won the 3000m steeplechase in a personal-best time of 9:01.34. Also competing in Sunday's events was Bridget Duffy in the 1500m, Antonette Carter and Jacqueline Earls in the 100m and Abadir Barre in the 500m. Duffy finished fifth in the 1500m in 4:33.79, while Carter placed fifth in the 100m (11.79) and Earls finished ninth (12.30). Barre finished the 5000m in 15th place (15:42.02).
Former Golden Bear Bevan Hart competed in the senior championships' decathlon. Hart finished seventh in the decathlon with a point total of 7754. His second day results are as follows: 110m hurdles (8th, 14.83); DT (11th, 138-4); 1500m (4th, 4:29.45). Hart's first day results were as follows: 100m (11th, 11.20); LJ (12th, 22-4.25); SP (9th, 44-4.75); HJ (8th, 6-5); 400m (8th, 50.00).
