Arizona Tennis Boasts Three Pac-10 All-Academic Selections

TUCSON, Ariz. - Three Arizona tennis student athletes were chosen for the Pac-10 All-Academic team as announced by Commissioner Tom Hansen. To be eligible, the student athlete must earn a 3.0 grade-point average and be a starter or significant contributor. Earning the honors for the men was Carl Hagman, while Dianne Hollands and Debbie Larocque garnered the recognition from the women's squad.
Hagman, a junior from Copenhagen, Denmark, is majoring in journalism and earned a 3.67 grade-point average, landing him a first-team nomination. Hagman finished the season at 17-14 in singles competition, while he earned a 7-4 record in doubles with partner Colin O'Grady. He reached his highest ranking during the season when the ITA ranked him in the No. 102 spot.
Hollands, hailing from Dunedin, New Zealand, earned her second-team accolade by finishing the year with a 3.61 grade-point average. Ranked No. 45 by the ITA, she earned a spot in the NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championships, where she fell in the first round to her No. 37-ranked opponent. Hollands finished the season with an overall record of 28-16.
Larocque, a sophomore from Laval, Quebec, garnered an honorable mention. Larocque finished her season with an overall record of 20-20.
