WSU Swimming Earns All-America Academic Status

June 27, 2003

PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State University swimming team ranked as one of the top programs in the College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-America Team standings for 2002-03.

The Cougars placed third nationally with a team grade point average of 3.50. Only SMU (3.55) and Arkansas (3.509) did better in the classroom than WSU. The third place finish equals the Cougars' best in school history (fall 1999). WSU is one of only three schools in the Pacific-10 Conference to garner All-America team status, joining Arizona State and UCLA.
