Three Cal Baseball Players Named to Northwoods All-Star Team

MADISON, WI - The University of California baseball program has three players - Jesse Ingram, Matt Einspahr and Travis Talbott - who have been selected to the participate in the 2003 Northwoods League All-Star Game this Wednesday, July 16 at Warner Park in Madison, Wisconsin.
Ingram, who will be a junior right-hander for Cal this spring, is a member of the Alexandria (Minnesota) Beetles. He will be competing for the North Division All-Stars after going 5-0 with a 2.23 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 48.3 innings for the Beetles in the first half of league play. This is the third summer Ingram has played for Alexandria. Last summer, he led the Northwoods League with 10 saves and had a 2.30 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 31.3 innings.
Einspahr and Talbott are in their first year playing in the Northwoods League and are teammates on the La Crosse (Wisconsin) Loggers. Einspahr and Talbott will be competing for the South Division All-Stars. Einspahr, who will be a junior infielder/catcher for the Bears this spring, is playing third base for the Loggers, batting .326 with five doubles, a home run and eight RBI. Talbott, who will be a junior left-hander for Cal, is 4-3 with a 2.76 ERA, and has three complete games and 27 strikeouts in 49.0 innings for La Crosse.
