Soccer Tabbed Third In Pac-10 Race

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State soccer team has been tabbed to finish third in the 2003 Pacific-10 Conference race this year in a preseason vote of the head coaches. The third place selection is the highest predicted finish in the eight-year history of the program.

The Sun Devils, under third year head coach Ray Leone, return all 11 starters from last year's team that advanced to the NCAA second round. Under-21 U.S. National Team members Amy LePeilbet and Manya Makoski, along with last year's Pac-10 Freshman of the Year Elizabeth Bogus, will join another strong freshman class that was ranked No. 9 in the country by Soccer America.

Arizona State begins the 2003 season on Friday, August 29 in Honolulu, Hawaii against the University of Hawaii at 7:00 p.m. (Hawaii time). The Sun Devils first home match will be on Friday, September 12 against Vanderbilt at 7:00 p.m.
