Sam Magee And USA Women's Eight Advance To Final

MILAN, Italy - Stanford's Sam Magee sat in the six seat of the USA Women's Eightthat raced yesterday in the qualify heats at the World Championshipsin Milan, Italy. The U.S. Women's Eight, including six rowers fromlast year's victorious crew in Seville, Spain, led its heat from thestart on the artificial lake Idroscalo. Australia, China and Belaruswere relegated to repechages. Romania won the second heat and sentGermany, Canada, and Ukraine to Wednesday's repechages as well.Finals will be held on Sunday, August 31.
