Sept. 2, 2003

SEATTLE -- Washington sophomore midfielder Leo Totev was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, the website announced Tuesday.

In his Husky debut, Totev scored a pair of goals to lead Washington to a 5-1 win over UNLV in its season opener, at the Nike Portland Invitational in Portland, Ore., Aug. 30. After UW fell behind 1-0 to the Rebels, Totev scored the equalizer in the 32nd minute, before scoring the eventual game-winner almost exactly one minute later and sparking the Husky offense.

Following a 1-1 tie with Oakland on Sept. 1, the Huskies finished as tournament champions based on goal differential.

Washington hosts Northwest rival Portland, Fri., Sept. 5, at Husky Soccer Field at 7 p.m.
