Husky Donor Walk of Fame Opens
Sept. 4, 2003
Seattle - Husky fans who attend Saturday's season-opening football game against Indiana will notice the newest addition to Washington's growing athletic complex. The Donor Walk of Fame will be dedicated Thursday night in a special ceremony and open to the public for the first time this weekend.
The Donor Walk of Fame is located on the plaza just west of Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion. The Donor Walk of Fame includes over 600 bricks honoring the individuals, families and corporations that donated at least $5,000 to the current Campaign for the Student-Athlete.
'This is a way for us to say thank you to many of the significant contributors to the Campaign,' says Husky athletic director Barbara Hedges. 'It is a special honor to be included in the Donor Walk of Fame. Without the generous efforts of these individuals and corporations, all of the recent improvements in our facilities would not be possible. And, we are not done, so there is certainly room to add more names to the plaza.'
To date, the Campaign for the Student-Athlete has raised more than $55 million in private support. The first phase of the campaign included:Renovation of the Bank of America Arena at Hec Edmundson PavilionConstruction of the Dempsey Indoor Practice FacilityHusky Fever Hall of FameHusky Team ShopEast Practice Facility (Husky Stadium)

The baseball/soccer stadium is currently in the design phase.
