ASU Men's Golf Team Opens Season Friday

TEMPE, Ariz.- The ASU men's golf team will open its season Friday, September 12 at the 48th Annual William H. Tucker Intercollegiate at the University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque. Tee times on Friday are at 7:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and Saturday at 7:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m.

The Sun Devils enter the season ranked No. 6 by Golfweek, No. 5 by Golf World and No. 8 in the Precept Coaches Poll. ASU's lineup is led by 2001 U.S. Public Links champion Chez Reavie and 2003 NCAA champion Alejandro Canizares. Also representing the Sun Devils this week are senior Ben Flam who had a 73.65 stroke average for the 2003 season, and 2001 Arizona Amateur champion Jesse Mueller. Rounding out the ASU lineup is sophomore Lenny Park.

Also playing in the 20-team tournament is Air Force, Arizona, Baylor, Brigham Young, Colorado, Colorado State, Hawaii, UNLV, two teams from the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State, North Carolina State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, Stanford, UTEP, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Toledo.
