Cougar Men's Golf Heads To Texas For First Tournament

What's Up Next: The Cougars will head to Flower Mound, Texas, for their first tournament of the year next week, where North Texas University will be hosting the Mean Green Invitational...the tournament is a two-day, 54-hole event at Lantana Golf Club, which is a par 72 and 7,147 yard course, Sept. 15-16...Thirty-six holes will be played Monday, with the final 18 being wrapped up Tuesday.
Field: The 16-team field includes 16-time National Champion Houston University, Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, UL Lafayette, UL Monroe, Louisville, McNeese State, Middle Tennessee, Nebraska, North Texas, Oral Roberts, Sam Houston State, Texas State University, Stephen F. Austin, Washington State, Western Kentucky.
Head Coach Walt Williams on the Mean Green Invitational: 'The tournament has a very good field with some with some very talented teams. We look forward to finding out a lot about ourselves. Ryan Camp is kind of our lone ranger as far as a top flight player. We look for him to play well. Isaac Woods is very solid and is playing better and better. We have three young guys, ( Jordan Madison RS-Fr, Ben Bryson Jr., Chad Carlson So.) and look forward to see how they perform with seniors Camp and Woods. Freshman Matt Fladwood will be making the trip with us.'
Returning Cougars: Ryan Camp was an All-Pacific-10 Conference selection last season and looks to repeat his school tying record round of 65 which he attained in the Cougar's opening tournament last season...Isaac Woods is the only other senior on the roster and has posted 17 finishes in the top 25 in his career...Camp and Woods combined, account for 76 of the 96 total events played by the men on the Cougar roster.
Young Guns: Madison played well this summer with a top 5 finish in both the Oregon and Washington Amateur's...Bryson was the runner-up in the Nevada Amateur.
