OREGON STATE FORWARD ALAN GORDON NAMED PAC-10 MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- OREGON STATE senior forward Alan Gordon has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 9-15, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Gordon, from Gilbert, Ariz., tallied five points at the Beavers' own Diadora Classic, as Oregon State defeated Gonzaga and Saint Mary's to claim the tournament title. In the 4-2 win over Gonzaga, Gordon scored a goal and added an assist. In the 2-0 shutout of Saint Mary's, he added his second goal of the season to open the scoring against the Gaels.

Gordon ranks second on the squad with six points on the season. The Beavers (4-2-0) are back in action at the Rhode Island Tournament this weekend, taking on Boston University on Sept. 19 and the host Rams on Sept. 21.

This is the third weekly honor for Gordon, his first this season and the sixth all-time Player of the Week honor for Oregon State.
