Chad Barrett Selected To Soccer America's Team Of The Week

Sept. 17, 2003

UCLA freshman forward Chad Barrett (Beaverton, OR/Southridge HS) was selected to Soccer America's Team of the Week for games played Sept. 8-14. Barrett had a hand in every goal as UCLA dismantled Cal State Fullerton, 5-0, on Sept. 14.

Barrett, who was also named to College Soccer News' Team of the Week, totaled two goals and three assists, all in the second half of the game. He leads UCLA in scoring with 15 points on four goals and seven assists in just five games. He ranks second in the NCAA in points per game (3.0) and assists per game (1.4) and is the nation's leader in total points and total assists. Barrett's teammate Matt Taylor ranks first in goals per game (1.5) and is tied with Barrett, among others, for second in points per game (3.0).

This is Barrett's first career honor by Soccer America and the second by a Bruin this season.
