USC's Adams Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--USC middle blocker Emily Adams has been named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 15-Sept. 21, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Adams, a junior from Phoenix, Ariz., hit .579 with a career-high 23 kills in 38 attempts with just one error against the No. 9 UCLA Bruins (USA Today/ AVCA coaches poll). Adams also added seven digs, four blocks, and one service ace on the way to 26.5 points (6.63 ppg) in the match.
Adams led the The Women of Troy as they opened their defense of the Pac-10 title with a four game victory over UCLA in the FOX Sports Pac-10 Match of the Week. Improving to 10-0 overall and 1-0 in the Pac-10, the Women of Troy retained their No. 1 ranking as they head into matches with Oregon State and Oregon this week.
This is the second weekly honor for Adams and USC's 31st Player of the Week honor all time.
