Beaver Nation Enjoys Rally in Portland

Portland, Ore. - Beaver Nation turned out in force on a beautiful Friday lunch hour at the Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland. The Rose City Beaver Nation Rally attracted approximately 3,500 people.

Beaver believers and curious onlookers watched the OSU cheerleaders and band perform. KEX (1190 AM) sports director Scott Lynn served as the host, with special guests director of athletics Bob De Carolis, head football coach Mike Riley, and student-athletes James Newson, Richard Seigler, and Steven Jackson.

The Beavers open Pacific-10 Conference play Saturday night at 7 p.m. at OSU's Reser Stadium in a nationally televised game via Fox Net. Reser Stadium is sold out for the 20th consecutive time

The Department of Athletics would like to thank Beaver Athletic Student Fund donor Rob Sanders and the Sanders family for the use of their helicopter in transferring the three student-athletes to the rally.
