Women's Golf Stands In 12th After Day Two Of Dick McGuire Invitational

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Arizona State women's golf squad shot one stroke better as a team (308) on the second day of the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational and find themselves in 12th-place heading into the final day with a 33-over par total of 617.
The leader for the Sun Devils is Jamie Michaud (University Place, Wash.), who is tied for 27th at a 5-over par 151 after carding a 74 this afternoon (77-74=151). Also carding a one-over for the Sun Devils on Friday was freshman Tiffany Tavee (Gilbert, Ariz.) who finds herself tied for 43rd at nine-over for the tournament thus far (81-74=155).
Another in 43rd is sophomore Alissa Kuczka (Phoenix, Ariz.), who turned in an 8-over 81 on Friday (74-81=155), while redshirt-freshman Danelle Perata (Vacaville Calif.) is one stroke back at 10-over and is tied for 50th (77-79=156). Freshman Charmaine Erasmus (Bradenton, Fla.) is tied for 87th at 21-over (81-86=167).
Host University of New Mexico is the only team under par heading into Saturday, as they stand at 8-under for the tournament (576), with the rest of the top-five being Oklahoma State (585), Pepperdine (595), Tulsa (598) and Texas Tech (611).
Kailin Downs of New Mexico and Karin Sjodin of Oklahoma State are at the top of the individual leaderboard with each standing at eight-under (138). The individual story of the afternoon was Suzie Fisher of Tulsa, who shot a course-record seven-under (66) after shooting a five-over yesterday. Sjodin and Carolina Llano of Pepperdine tied the previous course record of 67 during their rounds on Friday.
Participants play 18 holes each day on the par 73, 6,069-yard UNM Championship Course, with ASU's tee times beginning at 9:50 a.m. for Saturday's final round. The team standings are as follows after day two:
