No. 1 Women Of Troy Keep Streak Intact With 3-0 Win Over Oregon

LOS ANGELES - Junior Emily Adams registered 18.5 points Saturday as the No. 1-ranked USC women's volleyball team defeated Oregon, 3-0 (30-14, 30-20, 30-16), in front of 372 at the Lyon Center in Pac-10 Conference action. With the win, the Women of Troy improve to 12-0 overall and 3-0 in conference action while extending their match win streak to 24.
Oregon falls to 3-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play.
Adams led the Trojans with 16 kills on the evening, along with three blocks, one service ace and a team-high .714 attack percentage. Junior Keao Burdine added 11 kills, 10 digs, three blocks and a .409 hitting percentage while senior April Ross had nine kills on the night and did not record an error for a .643 attack percentage.
Jaclyn Jones led the Ducks with 10.5 points and had a team-high 10 kills with five digs and one block.
USC used a 17-6 run at the end of the first game as the Ducks hit .000 (eight kills and eight errors). Oregon held a 13-9 advantage in the second game, but a 5-1 run by the Trojans thanks to three straight kills by Bibiana Candelas and two by Katie Olsovsky tied the game. Adams' kill gave the Trojans the 16-15 advantage and did not relinquish the lead.
The Women of Troy used a torrid .545 hitting clip in the third game to build a 21-9 advantage and close out the match with USC hitting .434 in the three-set contest.
USC will continue Pac-10 Conference play next weekend on Friday (Oct. 3) at Washington State at 7 p.m. and Saturday (Oct. 4) at Washington at 7 p.m.
