No. 4 Cal Ties For Second at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

SEATTLE - No. 4 California led after the first two rounds but could not hold on to its one-stroke lead, tying for second at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational Wednesday at the Sahalee Country Club. The Golden Bears shot a 308 to finish the 54-hole tournament with a score of 899, tying UCLA and finishing three strokes behind tournament-winning Arizona.
Defending NCAA champion USC placed fourth at 914 and Oregon finished fifth at 924.Cal senior Anna Temple, who entered today's play in first place by two strokes, led the Bears, tying for fourth (222). She carded an 80 in today's final round.
Also finishing in the top 10 for Cal was sophomore Sofie Andersson in a tie for seventh (223). The Bears' next best results were senior Sarah Huarte in a tie for 15th (228) and Sophia Sheridan in a tie for 26th (231). Senior Claire Dury shot a 76 for Cal's low round of the day and finished the tournament tied for 28th (232).
Arizona's Erica Blasberg and USC's Irene Cho shared the individual crown with a score of 219.The Bears return to action Oct. 17-19 at the Stanford Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course.
