Cardinal Women Host Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team will host the 2003 Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate, October 17-19, at the Stanford Golf Course (6,168 yards, par 72) in Stanford, Calif. Tee times will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday and Saturday from the first and 10th tees. Sunday's final round will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
The 18-team field includes: Arizona, Arizona State, California, Duke, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oregon, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Jose State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Washington, Washington State and host-Stanford.
Last year, California won the tourney, firing a three-round total of 885 to edge runner-up Vanderbilt (887). Washington finished third (890). Individually, Arizona's Erica Blasberg took top medalist honors, carding a five-under par 211, followed by New Mexico State's Alena Sharp, who shot an even par 216.
The Stanford women's golf team carded a final round of 301 in the 2002 Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate to finish ninth overall with a three-day total of 914. For the Cardinal, Kim Rowton tied for 13th overall after carding a two-under par 70 in the final round to bring her three-round total to 223. Kelly Husted tied for 33rd with a 230 (75-78-77) while teammate Kim Kouwabunpat placed 44th at 232 (75-80-77). Wendra Liang tied for 49th after shooting a 234 (74-81-79) for the tourney and Angela Rho tied for 54th (79-79-77--235). Stephanie Lue, competing as an individual, tied for 57th overall (77-78-81--236).
