Women's Basketball Picked To Finish 8th In Pac-10 Coaches Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Oregon State University's women's basketball team was picked to finish eighth in the 2003-04 Pacific-10 Conference coaches poll, as was announced Monday.
The Beavers received 30 points in the voting, while Stanford, which finished 27-5 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last year, was for the fourth consecutive season predicted to finish as champion with 80 points and eight first place votes.
Oregon State returns nine players from last season's 15-15 squad that made its third straight postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament appearance.
The Beavers have finished in the top five in the Pac-10 standings the last two seasons. Seniors Leilani Estavan, Brina Chaney and Hollye Chapman look to lead OSU to its first NCAA appearance since 1996.
Oregon State opens its exhibition season on Friday, November 7 in Gill Coliseum against Basketball Travelers.
