Matt Taylor Selected to Soccer America's Team of the Week

Oct. 15, 2003

UCLA senior forward Matt Taylor (Irvine, CA/Irvine HS) was selected to Soccer America's Team of the Week for games played Oct. 6-12. Taylor chipped the goalkeeper on a nice give-and-go from Cliff McKinley for the lone goal against New Mexico and pitched in two goals and an assist in the 5-0 win over Fresno State to extend UCLA's winning streak to eight games.

Taylor leads UCLA with 10 goals and 21 points and ranks fourth nationally in goals per game (1.0) and 10th in points per game (2.1).

This is Taylor's second honor by Soccer America this season and the fifth by a Bruin. He has earned Team of the Week honors three times in his career.
