Beavers Finish 14th At Stanford Intercollegiate

The Oregon State women's golf team ended a tough weekend with a 14th-place finish and a final score of 922 in the Stanford Intercollegiate at the par-72 Stanford Golf Course Sunday.
Senior Laura Skinner posted her best round of the season with a final-round 73 and tied for 54th with a 12-over 228, her lowest three-round total of the season.
After an impressive opening-round 74, senior Kelly Ferris concluded the tournament in a tie for 57th with a 229.
'The field was good and the numbers were low,' said OSU coach Risï¿½ Lakowske. 'I am proud of the way we played. We did much better this week. This was a confidence builder for us.
'We'll work on some things, especially putting, before Hawaii.'
Top-ranked Duke (Golfweek) held a slim lead after two rounds and the Blue Devils validated their ranking to take home the team title with a 19-under 845, holding off 28th-ranked Washington by five strokes.
Arizona's Erica Blasberg and Duke's Elizabeth Janangelo shared top individual honors, both finishing with a 7-under 209.
Freshman Lindsay Eide posted her best round and three-round total of the season with a final round 2-over 74 and an overall score of 233, tying her for 70th.
The Beavers close out the fall season at the Hawaii Invitational Nov. 4-5.
