#9 Women's Volleyball Sweeps Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Heather Cullen hit .320 with a match-high 12 kills to lead the No. 9 UCLA volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep over Oregon State on Friday night. Game scores were 30-13, 30-20 and 30-24. UCLA improves to 16-4, 8-3 Pac-10, while OSU falls to 12-10, 2-8 Pac-10.
The Bruins were hot offensively in games one and two, hitting .361 and .340 while holding OSU to .057 and .061. UCLA's offense dipped to .102 in game three, but the Bruin defense stepped up, forcing the host Beavers to a -.038 hitting percentage. For the match, UCLA hit .258 while Oregon State managed just .022, committing 31 errors while collecting just 34 kills on the night.
Chrissie Zartman had a solid night on the back line for UCLA, leading all players with 19 digs from the libero spot. Brynn Murphy added 11 kills, six blocks and hit .323 while Krystal McFarland (.492, 4 BA), Cira Wright (.471, 14 digs) and Becky Green (.353, 10 digs, 4 blocks) contributed to the Bruin victory.
Next up for UCLA is a trip to Cal State Northridge on Tue., Oct. 28, before hosting Washington State on Halloween and Washington on Sat., Nov. 1, in Pauley Pavilion.
