Oct. 24, 2003

The Arizona State men's golf team is ranked in the top 10 in all four of the most recent collegiate golf polls.

ASU is ranked fourth by Golf World, fifth by the Golf Coaches Association, eighth in the Golfweek computer rankings and ninth in the Golfstat rankings.

Arizona State is led by 2003 NCAA individual champion Alejandro Canizares and senior Chez Reavie, the 2001 U.S. Public Links champion. The Sun Devils, 11-time Pac-10 champions and two-time (1990 and 1996) NCAA champions, next compete in the Match Play Championships in South Carolina Nov. 7-9.

ASU won its first event of the year, the 20-team Tucker Intercollegiate, in early September. It then finished tenth at the NCAA Preview and was second at the Club Glove Intercollegiate.

Canizares is leading the team with a 72.75 stroke average and two top-10 finishes.
