Although idle last week, the OREGON STATE Beavers moved up one place in the NSCAA/Adidas Coaches' poll... The Beavers looks to extend their four game win streak this week against STANFORD and CALIFORNIA... The UCLA Bruins take a break from Pac-10 play and will host Rutgers on Halloween in the league's only non-conference game this week... The STANFORD Cardinal look to end its seven game skid as it travels to the Pacific Northwest to battle WASHINGTON and Oregon State... The Washington Huskies return to Pac-10 action this week hosting Stanford and California... After winning two of their last four the FRESNO STATE Bulldogs are idle this week.

PAC-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WASHINGTON junior forward Brett Wiesner has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 21-27.
Wiesner, from Brookfield, Wis., scored the game-winning goal in Washington's 1-0 win over Gonzaga (Oct. 26). He headed in a corner kick from senior Troy Ready to score the match's only goal at 12:44 into the first half. Wiesner led all players in the match with a total of eight shots.
Wiesner, Washington's leading scorer a year ago, scored his first goal of the season against Gonzaga. Due to injury, he had played in only five games, and has started just one prior to the Gonzaga game.
With the one-goal victory Washington moved up to No. 8 in the Soccer America poll, and are No. 25 in the NSCAA/Adidas Coaches' poll. The Huskies are now 7-0-1 against non-conference opponents this year.
This is Wiesner's first weekly honor, and the eighth all-time player of the week honor for the Huskies.

PAC-10 MEN'S SOCCER NOTES
CALIFORNIA: The Bears defeated Fresno State and fell to UCLA last week... In the game versus UCLA So. GK Mike Oseguera saved seven goals and allowed only one score, against Fresno State he saved six shots and allowed zero goals, improving his save percentage to .810... The shutout of Fresno State was Oseguera's fourth this season... So. MF Nick Hatzke scored his first goal of the season against the Bulldogs. The goal proved to be the game-winner as Cal topped FSU 1-0... Cal travels to Washington and Oregon State this week for matches that could determine second place in the Pac-10.
FRESNO STATE: Winners of two of their last four, Fresno State will take a week off before returning to action Tuesday Nov. 4 at Cal State Fullerton... All seven of the Bulldogs' league games have been shutouts, they are 2-5 in those games... The victory against Stanford snapped a 14-match winless streak on the road dating back to a 1-0 win at Denver on Nov. 2, 2001. They will need to build on that momentum as the Bulldogs play the next three consecutive matches on the road... So. GK Eric Kronberg made six saves en route to shutting out the Cardinal. He raised his save total to 81 on the season, which places him in a tie with Kirk Shermer (1979) for the eleventh-best single season mark in school history.
OREGON STATE: Although the Beavers were idle last week, they managed to move up two spots to 15th in the NSCAA/ Adidas Coaches' poll... The Beavers look to extend their four game win streak this week in home games against California and Stanford... A victory against Stanford would be the Beavers second over the Cardinal this season, and their third all-time... Oregon State's offense is clicking on all cylinders, they have outscored their opponents 10-1 in the last four matches. So. F Ryan Johnson and Sr. B Ross Duncan have assisted 21 of OSU's 31 goals this season... Sr. F Alan Gordon has scored a team-high 11 goals, and currently ranks third on the Beavers' all-time scoring list.
STANFORD: Stanford was shutout in two games last week, running its scoreless streak to six games... The 1-0 loss to Fresno State was its sixth loss by one goal this year, the most by a Stanford team since 1988... The Cardinal look to reverse the trend this week against Washington and Oregon State. The Cardinal holds a 14-2-2 mark all-time against the Beavers and trail the Huskies in the all-time series by one match (15-14). Jr. GK Robby Fulton is second in the Pac-10 in saves per games, and currently ranks sixth on the Cardinal career saves list with 115.
UCLA: With shutout victories over both Stanford and California, the Bruins have now won 10 games this season by shutout, including the last three straight... Ten shutouts this season ranks fifth on UCLA's all-time list for most shutouts in a season... The Bruins have allowed only six goals this season, one on a penalty kick... Fr. F Chad Barrett scored the game-winning goal against Stanford, running his point total to 22 on the season. His 22 points scored is the most scored by a Bruin freshman since McKinley Tennyson Jr. scored 23 in 1997... The Bruins lead the league in a vast majority of statistical categories, including, shots, goals, assists, goals allowed, points, goals per game, assists per game, goals against average, and shutouts.
WASHINGTON: Washington's 1-0 win over Gonzaga was their 17th win all-time against the Bulldogs... The Huskies improved 7-0-1 against non-conference opponents this season... Jr. F Brett Wiesner scored the game-winning goal against Gonzaga, and led all players in the match with eight shots on goal... Sr. GK Danny Waltman has posted five shutouts this season, and the Huskies have outscored the opponents 23-11 this year.
