Findley Garners Pac-10 Player Of The Week Honor
Nov. 4, 2003
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - -
Oregon State freshman forward Robbie Findley became the third Beaver to earn Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Week recognition this year when he was selected by the conference Tuesday after scoring three goals last weekend against California and Stanford.
Findley, from Phoenix, Ariz., scored the game-winner in the sixth minute of overtime in Sunday's 3-2 win over Stanford at Lorenz Field, and tallied two scores - including the game-winner - in a 3-1 victory over Cal on Friday.
Findley is OSU's second-leading scorer this year with 20 points (9 goals, 2 assists), trailing only Alan Gordon (25 points).
Findley's three goals last weekend were the first in over a month following an injury that limited his playing time.
Findley joins Carlos 'Boku' Cornejo (Oct. 12) and Gordon (Sept. 14) as the third Beaver Player of the Week this year and the eighth selection from OSU since the Pac-10 began sponsoring men's soccer in 2000.
OSU plays at Fresno State this Friday, Nov. 7 and at No. 1 UCLA on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.
