Oregon State's Robbie Findley Named Pac-10 Player of the Week
Nov. 4, 2003
WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- Oregon State freshman forward Robbie Findley has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 28-Nov. 3, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Findley, from Phoenix, Ariz., was instrumental in Oregon State's victories over California and Stanford last week. Findley scored both game-winning goals in the Beavers' wins over the Bears (Oct. 31) and the Cardinal (Nov. 2). Findley's goal in the sixth minute of overtime lifted Oregon State to a 3-2 victory over Stanford, and he notched the team's second and third goals in the 3-1 win over California.
Oregon State enters the week riding a six-game Pac-10 and overall winning streak, its longest Conference winning streak in program history. The Beavers face Fresno State and UCLA this week. With a pair of victories and a win at Washington on Nov. 16, the Beavers could earn at least a share of the Pac-10 title.
Findley, who has battled injuries all season, ranks fourth in the Pac-10 with 20 points on the season (9 goals/2 assists). This is his first weekly honor and the eighth all-time for Oregon State.
