LePeilbet Earns Academic All-Region Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. - For the second straight year, Arizona State soccer player Amy LePeilbet was one of 11 players named to the CoSIDA Soccer Academic All-American First Team for District VIII, announced Thursday. The selection now makes her eligible for her second national Academic All-American award.
LePeilbet, a senior defender from Crystal Lake, Illinois, holds a 3.81 grade-point average in education. LePeilbet, the Sun Devils' top defender, has again played a major role in ASU's nationally ranked program. Starting in all 17 matches, she has helped the 22nd-ranked Sun Devils to a current 10-4-3 overall record with seven shutouts, and a conference second-best 4-2-1 Pac-10 record.
This year, LePeilbet has also scored a career-high three goals and six points along with two game-winning goals. A 2003 preseason All-American choice by Soccer America, LePeilbet is also a member of the U.S. U-21 National Team.
To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must have reached at least sophomore status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have at least a 3.20 GPA.
