Men's Golf 13th After Two Rounds At Del Walker Intercollegiate

LONG BEACH, Calif.- -
The Oregon State men's golf team posted a 595 Thursday in the first two rounds of the Del Walker Intercollegiate in Long Beach, California at the par-71 Virginia Country Club. The Beavers are in 13th place going into the final round Friday.
Junior Brad Simpson shot a 4-over 146 and is tied for 26th. Freshmen Ryan Gilmour and Jonathan Green are just one stroke behind Simpson, each tied for 34th. Green is competing individually in this tournament.
Host Long Beach State is the leader by two strokes over Texas-San Antonio after firing a 2-over 570, including a 3-under 281 in the afternoon round.
Lamar's Chris Stroud posted a very impressive 11-under 131 and leads Long Beach State's Bret Lederer by two strokes with 18 holes to play.
The tournament concludes with the final 18 holes beginning Friday morning.
