Men's Golf Falls To Georgia Tech In First Round Of Hooters Match Play Championships

Myrtle Beach, SC - The USC men's golf team fell to Georgia Tech, 3-2, on Friday in the first round of the Hooters Match Play Championships held at the Barefoot Resort.

Junior Nico Bollini defeated Yellowjacket Michael Barbosa, 3 and 2, while freshman Joshua Wooding beat Chan Wongluekiet, 1 up.

But sophomore Taylor Wood lost to Thomas Jordan, 3 and 1, junior Ben Hayes lost to Kevin Larsen, 5 and 4, and Tyler Ley lost to Roberto Castro, 1 up, to give Georgia Tech the win.

USC will next face Arizona in the second round, consolation bracket. The Wildcats lost to Georgia, 3-2.
