Eight Bruins will travel to Portland for the Regional Championships. Leading the way is senior Valerie Flores, who led the Bruins to a third place finish at the Pac-10 Championships, placing seventh and earning All-Pac-10 honors. Joining Flores are senior Melissa McBain, juniors Carmen Winant and Carolyn Shea, sophomores Jenna Timinsky and Allison Hall, redshirt freshman Ashley Caldwell and true freshman Alison Costello.
'We return from the Pac-10 meet pleased with the way that we competed and are enthusiastic with the opportunity to compete against these teams again in a championship setting,' said Head Coach Eric Peterson. 'I have never seen the spirit of this team higher than it is now. All of the kids are training at a high level. We've set a goal for ourselves to be among the automatic qualifying teams for the NCAA Championships, which is one of the top-two teams.'
