Owens Selected to Soccer America's Team of the Week

Nov. 12, 2003

Freshman defender Brandon Owens (Murrieta, CA/Edison Academic Center) was selected to Soccer America's Team of the Week for games played Nov. 3-9.

Owens scored the game-winning goal in UCLA's 5-0 victory over Oregon State that clinched the Pac-10 title, UCLA's second consecutive. He also helped UCLA earn its 13th and 14th shutouts of the season as UCLA defeated Washington and Oregon State. Behind his defensive efforts, UCLA has posted an NCAA-leading goals against average of 0.33.

This is Owen's first Soccer America Team of the Week honor of the season and his career. UCLA players have now earned nine Soccer America Team of the Week honors this season.
