Bautre Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Volleyball Team

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State's Zanda Bautre has been named to the Academic All-District Third Team for District VIII as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Bautre, a Cougar senior co-captain from Riga, Latvia, was one of 21 women honored in the District VII University Division volleyball teams: six were named to the first team, seven to the second team and eight to the third team. A starter for WSU at outside hitter, Bautre had a 3.53 GPA earning her undergraduate degree in international business last August. She is currently in the master's program at WSU. Baute is the team leader in kills (3.44 kpg) and digs (3.14 dpg) and her digs average is eighth-best in the Pac-10.
In order to be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), must be a significant contributor to the team, and be in at least their second season at their current school. District VIII includes schools in the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and British Columbia.
