Nationally-Ranked Cardinal Defeats Team Nike, 117-78.

Stanford, Ca - Seven Stanford players scored in double figures as the nationally-ranked Cardinal basketball team scored a 117-78 victory over Team Nike in an exhibition game Sunday night at Maples Pavilion.
Matt Lottich led the Cardinal charge with 16 points and dished out six assists. Lottich hit 7-of-10 shots from the floor and 2-for-3 from three-point territory. Rob Little added 14 points, Matt Haryasz scored 13 points, Josh Childress, Chris Hernandez and Dan Grunfeld chipped in with eleven points each, and Joe Kirchofer added ten points.
Stanford, ranked 19th in the Associated Press poll, dominated the game from start-to-finish. The Cardinal raced to an 11-1 lead at the 17:18 mark, and increased it to as many as 31 points, 57-26, with3:30 in the first half.
Stanford's biggest lead of the game was 42 points, 75-33, with 15:23 remaining in the game.
Stanford shot 66 percent (44-for-67) from the floor, and 60 percent (12-for-20) from three-point territory.
This was Team Nike's worst loss in seven games. Team Nike had suffered double-digit losses to pre-season #1 Connecticut (96-78), and 2003 NCAA champion Syracuse (94-82).
Stanford opens the regular season on Nov. 22 against Sacramento State at Maples Pavilion. Tipoff is 7:00 p.m.
