Emily Adams Named To Pac-10 All-Academic First Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- USC women's volleyball junior Emily Adams has been named to the 2003 Pac-10 All-Academic first team, announced Conference commissioner Tom Hansen on Wednesday, Nov. 19. In addition to Adams, the Women of Troy also had four named to the honorable mention team, including senior Toni Anderson, junior Bibiana Candelas, junior Alicia Robinson and senior April Ross.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Adams, who boasts a 3.67 grade point average as an international relations major, was also recently named to the Academic All-District VIII First Team and is now eligible for national honors. Anderson, a psychology major with a 3.22 GPA, was named an All-District VIII honorable mention pick.

This is the first academic honor of the season for Candelas, Robinson and Ross. Candelas is a communications major with a 3.06 overall grade point average, Robinson boasts a 3.22 GPA as a psychology major and Ross is an international relations major with a 3.15 average.
