Nov. 25, 2003

El Paso, Texas - Cal senior Peter Tomasulo finished tied for 17th at the 29th Annual Western Refining All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas. Tomasulo rebounded from a first round 75 (+4) to card 69 (-2) and 68 (-3) in the final two rounds. He did well to finish at 212 (-1) for the tournament. This was the first year Tomasulo has competed in the prestigious event.

Chris Nallen of Arizona won the tournament scoring a 196 (-17) over the three rounds without any bogeys.

This year also marked the first time that 20 players were under par for the 54-hole tournament. The previous best mark came in 1992 and again 1997, when 16 players carded a three-round total under par.

The tournament, hosted by the Sun Bowl Association, is played at the Par-71, 6,781-yard El Paso Country Club. Each university is awarded a $1,000 scholarship if a golfer from that school competes in the tournament.
