Washington Volleyball Defeats Utah Valley State, 3-0

SEATTLE- The 14th-ranked Washington volleyball team picked up its 20th win of the season with a 3-0 sweep over Utah Valley State tonight at Bank of America Arena. The Huskies close out the regular season with a 20-8 record and the most wins since 1997 when the squad finished with a 20-10 mark. Game scores were 30-14, 30-16, 30-16.
Washington posted a solid .333 hitting percentage, while the Wolverines hit just -.010. The Huskies also recorded 15 service aces, including five apiece from Sanja Tomasevic and Courtney Thompson en route to the victory.
Tomasevic led the Huskies with 12 kills and 13 digs for her 13th double double of the season. Brie Hagerty added nine kills, while Darla Myhre chipped in six and Egan Metcalf and Kaitlin Leck each logged five.
Libero Candace Lee anchored the defense with eight digs, while Myhre and Tomasevic each picked up four blocks.
Alina Wallauer led Utah Valley State with eight kills, while Jenny Weed notched eight digs.
The Huskies wait until Sun., Nov. 30 to learn its postseason fate. The NCAA Selection Show will announce the 64 teams who will compete for the 2003 Championship title. The show will air on ESPNews at 5 p.m. (PT).
