Swimming Closes Day Two at United States Open Meet

The Beaver swimmers brought day two to a close at the United States Open meet on Friday. They participated in two of the four events.
Junior Mari Embertson met the 'B' standard with a 13th place finish in the 400-meter individual medley, swimming a time of 4 minutes, 56.58 seconds; while sophomore Monika Miroslaw finished 44th, with a time of 5:04.73.
In the 100 butterfly, sophomore Christina Kinney finished 27th with a time of 1:03.58. Future Oregon State swimmer Courtney Eads met the 'B' standard with a 13th place time of 1:01.91. She currently swims for The Claremont Club out of Claremont, Calif.
Competition continues Saturday, Dec. 6; preliminaries are set for 9 a.m. with the finals slated for 6 p.m.
