Gordon Named Third-Team All-American By College Soccer News

Dec. 9, 2003

Alan Gordon became the first Oregon State men's soccer player to be named to an overall All-America team when he was chosen for the third-team by College Soccer News on Tuesday.

Joe Zaher was named to two freshman All-America teams last year and Aaron McHardy was a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American in 2001, but no Beaver had been named to an overall All-America squad.

Gordon, a senior forward, led the Beavers and was third in the Pacific-10 Conference with 25 points on 11 goals and three assists this year, finishing his two-year OSU career third on the school's scoring list with 59 points (26 goals, 7 assists).

Gordon (Gilbert, Ariz./Yavapai Junior College/Gilbert HS) is a two-time first-team All-Pac-10 pick and was named to the NSCAA All-Far West Region first team on Monday.
