Arizona's Beau Muhlbach Sprains Foot In Practice
Dec. 20, 2003
TUCSON, Ariz. - University of Arizona men's basketball player Beau Muhlbach suffered a sprain to his left foot during practice Friday afternoon.
Muhlbach, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound, guard from Lufkin, Texas, suffered sprained a ligament on the lateral aspect of his left foot during practice at Bear Down Gym. The normal recovery time for such an injury is three to four weeks.
'He suffered the injury while pushing off during a routine drill in practice,' said Justin Kokoskie, athletic trainer for UA men's basketball. 'Our goal is to return him to functional activity as soon as possible without causing any further aggravation.'
Muhlbach is averaging 1.5 points per game while shooting 33.3 percent from the field, including 1-of-1 from three-point range, in two appearances this season. He made his first collegiate field goal attempt on Nov. 24 vs. Northern Arizona.
Seventh-ranked Arizona (5-1, 0-0 Pac-10) will next be in action on Monday, Dec. 22, vs. San Diego State. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. MST and can be seen on Fox Sports Net Arizona.
