WASHINGTON STATE is trying to extend its win streak to five games, the longest for a Cougars club since they won five straight to open the 1996-97 season. . . . ARIZONA looks to get a victory in the last game before holiday break begins. Under Olson, the 'Cats are 113-36 (.762) in December . . . MATT LOTTICH, STANFORD PAC-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Senior forward Matt Lottich has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week after he helped Stanford win two difficult games last week and run its overall mark to 7-0. He averaged 23.0 points 6.0 assists in the victories over Florida International and Gonzaga. In the game against FIU he scored 12 points (4-of-8 from the floor, 2-of-4 from behind the arc) recorded five assists, a block, a steal and three rebounds in 25 minutes of play. Later in the week against No. 15 Gonzaga in the Pete Newell Challenge, Lottich scored a career-high 34 points (25 in the second half). He connected on 12 of his 17 shots from the floor, including 6-of-7 from three-point range and dished out a career-high seven assists. In crunch time, he was 4-of-4 from the free throw line to help ensure the victory for the Cardinal.
