CORVALLIS, Ore. - -
Oregon State senior goalkeeper Peter Billmeyer capped his OSU career by earning a spot on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's All-Scholar third team, the NSCAA announced Monday.
Billmeyer started all 20 games in goal this year and led the team to its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance while posting a 3.40 grade-point average as a Business Administration major. Billmeyer and the Beaver defense posted five shutouts this year.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 GPA, be a junior or senior in academic standing, start more than 50 percent of his team's games and be a significant contributor to the team's success.
The Omaha, Neb., native also earned first-team Academic All-Pacific-10 recognition earlier this year, and was honorable mention all-Pac-10 for his play.
